Oqabii Tours and travel was born out of my Love for travel by the founder Dr. Isabella C. Mapelu. The Company was founded in September, 2024. She is a lecturer in the Hospitality, travel and tourism Discipline.
As a lecturer she got an opportunity to travel to different parts of the country to assess students who were on practical attachment. In the process she caught the travel bug. Equally as a high school student, Geography was one of her best subjects. I guess all this has contributed to her loving to discover different parts of the world.
As part of the team that founded Oqabii Tours and Travel Ltd, she would like to assist those who have passion for travel to do so smoothly and if they encounter challenges to overcome them.

Authentic & Personalized Safaris
Oqabii Tours and Travel Ltd strives to offer great authentic Safari experiences which are personalized to individual guests or group of guests. Guests will be exposed to various categories of wildlife including the big five (The African Elephant, African Lion, Rhinoceros, Leopard and the African Buffalo), as well as the special five (reticulated Giraffe, Gravy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx and the Generuk). Apart from these categories of wildlife there is Marine life found at the Kenyan coastal region.

The agency strives to use local guides who have a wealth of knowledge and experience about the various destinations in Kenya.

Dr. Isabella Has a PHD in Tourism Management as well as a diploma in Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Amadeus. She is IATA certified. She has also spent the last twenty-two (22) years teaching at the University including supervising student researches. Besides teaching at the University, Isabella had so much passion for travel and discovering places that she decided to share the passion and assist travelers enjoy the passion by setting up Oqabii Tours and Travel Ltd, a tours and travel agency. She has traveled widely in Kenya and has been to Maasai Mara, a national reserve renowned for the big five, including the seventh wonder of the world, the wildebeest migration. She has been to Amboseli national park as well as the Coastal region of Kenya. Another destination she has travelled widely include the Western circuit and the Rift valley region of Kenya.
Dr. Mapelu is a travelling enthusiast with a wide experience on the sites and places around the country. He is also keen on entrepreneurship especially focused on business strategy planning and implementation. He co-founded the company with his wife Dr. Isabella C. Mapelu.
Dorcas has a diploma in Tourism Management. She acts as the office assistant. She ensures everything is working well in the office. She also receives inquiries from clients on their travel preferences afterwhich she sends them quotations.
